DonostiArtean International Contemporary Art Show

DonostiArtean International Contemporary Art Show was conceived in an effort to promote and spread national and international contemporary art, and it was meant to become a benchmark within the circuit of international shows.

A brand-new and independent fair, close and dynamic, a meeting and exchange place where both expert and novel collectors can find acclaimed works and emerging proposals, featuring quality as common denominator.

The first edition of this show is going to take place on August 7 – 11, 2014 at Kursaal, the Congress Palace of San Sebastián, an architectural work created by Rafael Moneo, an emblematic place and heart of the cultural activity in the city.

Donostia is the administrative capital of Gipuzkoa, one of the three territories that make up the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country. It’s nestled on the northeast side of the Iberian Peninsula, 19 miles away from the France frontier. Donostia-Bayona border axis stands as an important economic, tourism and social development circuit in the southeast of the European Union (EU).

San Sebastián, with over 185,000 inhabitants, is an eminently commercial city, aimed at tourism, services and congresses. In recent years, Donostiarra capital has been positioned as an avant-garde city among the European metropolis that base their project on the comprehensive support to science, technology, sustainable development and culture.

It was named European Capital of Culture in 2016, which backs up its potential as a city. DonostiArtean has been conceived by following specific guidelines: rigor, professionalism, quality and proximity; an International Contemporary Art Show that will be gathering galleries and artists from different aesthetic and conceptual trends in an original, fresh and dynamic event, with a perfectly defined program.
