Fourth Cultural Week of Peru in Havana to be organized

Havana.- To share values of the Peruvian Amazonas and Andean cultures transcend today as the main pretext of that country´s thematic week in Havana from July 7 to 15.

 

Te event, organized by the Peruvian diplomatic mission and with the collaboration of the Cuban Ministry of Culture, will offer exhibits, gastronomic forums and literary encounters.  

 

According to Peruvian ambassador in Cuba, Guido Toro, his nation has so much to offer in cultural terms, mostly from the cross-breeding perspective.   

During a conference press Toro emphasized he was pleased with the organization of this fourth edition, which he expects to become a referent in the already complex Havana cultural scenario.

 

Important among this week´s event will be the contemporary silver objects exhibit of the collection of the Patronato Plata del Perú, that will show 71 pieces, 41 from Peruvian silver-smith awarded in the national contest.  

 

The Carmen Motilla gallery, -located at the Historic Center- exhibits the inaugural sample from artist Silva Pestana conceived as a tribute to the Peruvian Amazonia.

 

The organizers also propose the Borka Sattler pictorial sample, a selection of twelve canvas grouped in the series Mujeres.

 

The music group Rondalla Piruana will offer a special presentation at the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso.     

 

Likewise, Peruvian, Cuban and North American academics will participate in literary sessions homage to Inca Garcilaso de la Vega and César Vallejo.
