Good Dreams, Bad Dreams. American Mythologies

With more than 2,000 pieces by various artists, the Tony and Elham Salamé Collection has grown at vertiginous speed in the last decade, making the Aïshti Foundation one of the most dynamic institutions in the Middle East and beyond.

At the core of this collection is a multigenerational group of artists who engage in a complex analysis of American popular culture, entertaining a love-and-hate relationship with the founding myths of the American Dream.

Good Dreams, Bad Dreams features a selection of works by these artists, chronicling the dramatic changes in the cultural and artistic history of America from the 1980s to the present day.

It includes important works by John Baldessari, Raymond Pettibon, Richard Prince, Allen Ruppersberg, Lutz Bacher, Rachel Harrison, Klara Lidén, Joyce Pensato, Amanda Ross-Ho, George Condo, David Salle, and Julian Schnabel.
