Alejandro Lescay

(Santiago de Cuba, 1987)
Alejandro Lescay Hierrezuelo graduated in painting and drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts José Joaquín Tejeda in Santiago de Cuba. He is member of the Hermanos Saiz Association and professor of Creation Workshop in the studies center mentioned before.

He has participated in over 45 group exhibitions and has made twelve personal exhibitions in Cuba. In addition to painting, he ventures into printmaking, sculpture and photography. He has been invited to Internós international events, mural painting, and the Vuelo de Bronce project.

Award in the Salón de Pequeño Formato in 2007. Award in the Salón de Arte Joven Contemporáneo in 2008. Award in the Salón de Paisaje and Second Prize at the National Exhibition of Graphic Humor “ Con cascabeles en la punta” ("With bells on top") in his hometown. He received the distinction 25th Anniversary of the Hermanos Saiz Association.

He participated in the course of lithography taught by Aguilera workshop; also in the postgraduate course in History of Art and Culture organized by the University of East and the Photography Workshop taught by artist Wolfgang Bogner, at the Art Center of the second Cuban capital. He has actively worked with invited masters to the René Valdés Cedeño Symposium, organized by the Caguayo Foundation in its two editions.
