Somos in the 30th edition of the Jazz Plaza

It crashed with originality into the 34th of the Caribbean Festival and was one of the sensations in the past May Pilgrimage Festival in Holguín. The project Somos is enlarged with new products to capture new audiences, this time the 30 international call of Jazz Plaza in Havana.

Somos is invoking the intimate “I” of a family from Santiago that through art it offers to Cuba and beyond. From the imagination of Alberto Lescay Merencio, Alejandro Lescay Hierrezuelo and Alberto Lescay Castellanos paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, literature and music arise. A project that has triumphed and it is going for more.

For the first time the Jazz Plaza will have the role of Cuban plastic art. The international edition deserves it which will be held from next December 17 through 21: "We started at the entrance with an exhibition mural, commemorating that great mural of the May Hall which was convened by the great artist Wifredo Lam” the sculptor Alberto Lescay Merencio, president of the Caguayo Foundation, who also chairs this family project, said.

The project Somos will invade all of exhibition spaces of Pabellon Cuba in Havana and will show unpublished collections. Lescay father makes magic with ink and rice paper while one of his sons enlists engravings and the exhibition Los hijos de Matías Pérez: "The role has always fascinated me, the facilities provided are awesome."

The project Ojos --- with their living sculptures--- and the musical proposal Formas are included in the attractions of this traveling exhibition. In the Iris Jazz Club in Santiago some tunes of coming concerts are ahead, "The artists Bobby Carcasés ---guest of honor---, Miguel Nunez, Hector Quintana, Sule Guerra and Carlos Miyares, among others who will be a surprise will interact with Formas "

The unpublished collections that will be display at Somos will have advances from this digital site: "Most of the pieces are going to be new, because one is constantly creating, and unique things are constantly born.
