THE EYE OF CONDOR

Marble cathedral

The shores of Lake General Carrera in Chile, whose waters embrace the lake Buenos Aires, in Argentina, treasure monumental mineral formations of calcium carbonate, which at first glance seem the work of a talented sculptor, but actually were whims of nature.

Very near from the town of Puerto Tranquilo several coastal cliffs are erected, which erosion gave rise to wonderful structures, called Marble Cathedral, Chapel of Marble or Marble Caves.

When the crystal clear waters of the giant reservoir are at a low level, it is possible to venture through the passages in small boats.
