Cuban Orishas Leading Havana World Music Festival

Urban music group Orishas, will give life to the poster of the Havana World Music Festival (HWM), to be held from March 22 to 24, organizers announced today.

Sponsored by the Cuban Music Institute, and the National Center for Popular Music HWM has established itself as one of the most popular events on the Cuban music scene, featuring international bands known for their authenticity and originality.

The singer Marinah, former member of the legendary Catalan band Ojos de Brujo, confirmed her attendance to event; the duo of African origin Gato Preto, and through the playground the Interactive band, led by the pianist Roberto Carcassés.

An important moment of the festival will be the presentation of the Cuban groups selected from the HWM call First Base, who will also receive advice from British professionals in the music industry and will be able to record a rough cut in studio.

During these days, collateral activities will take place at the Habana Libre hotel, which will function as a festival accreditation center.
