Estampa and IFEMA agree to jointly organise the next edition

IFEMA, Spain’s leading art fair operator, will co-organise the next edition of ESTAMPA according to the agreement signed with the company that owns the Estampa Contemporary Art Fair. The agreement establishes a collaboration framework for the joint organisation of ESTAMPA 2018 on the Feria de Madrid premises from 18 to 21 October 2018.

This agreement consolidates IFEMA’s position within the art sector, with an annual programme that includes six specialised fairs, both within the field of contemporary art, such as ARCOmadrid, ARCOlisboa, and now also ESTAMPA, as well as within the realm of ancient art and collecting with another two national benchmark events, namely FERIARTE and ALMONEDA, with their two annual editions. Moreover, this collaboration represents a major boost for ESTAMPA which, year after year, has become Spain’s second most important Contemporary Art Fair.

The team will continue to work under the direction of José María de Francisco, who has been managing the event since 2010, thus maintaining continuity in the programme, which focuses on reinforcing art collection in our country.  In addition, ESTAMPA will continue to work with Spain’s leading galleries and artists, contributing to the promotion of private collecting and reinforcing and stimulating our art market, which is the basis for developing a contemporary art scene that is growing ever stronger in Europe.

For IFEMA, in the words of its General Manager Eduardo López-Puertas, “this collaboration implies an additional boost to the specialisation of the institution not only within the art world, but also with respect to one of its main objectives, which is to disseminate and promote collecting and the creation of heritage in Spain”.

According to the Fair’s Director, José María de Francisco, “with this agreement with IFEMA we take a giant step forward; we will be able to continue to grow under the protection of a great institution, which has extraordinary experience in the organisation of one of the world’s most successful fairs, ARCOmadrid, and which provides the best conditions to continue to offer galleries and collectors a fair that is constantly growing and evolving.”
