Galicia in ARCO

Three Galician galleries have joined the most outstanding event for contemporary art in Spain: ARCOmadrid. Vigo’s Ad Hoc and Bacelos, and Santiago de Compostela’s Trinta, will be exhibiting works created by over twenty artists.

Trinta gallery returns to Arco with pieces of Carlos Pazos, Juan Hidalgo, Eva Lootz, Din Matamoro and Teo Soriano as distinguished artist. On the other hand, Ad Hoc’s proposal is wider, since it will be showcasing works created by Xoan Anleo, Suso Fandiño, Elena Garcia, Curro Gonzalez, Carme Nogueira, Fernando Jose Pereira, Jorge Perianes and Rubens Mano as distinguished artist. This Galician presence is completed with Bacelos, which has a venue in Madrid since last year. This gallery sheds light on pieces of Fermin Jimenez Landa, Polish sculptor Marlena Kudlicka and, as the main artist, Corunnes David Ferrando Giraut.

Spanish gallery owners are waiting for the results of this fair, taking into account that the VAT related to the sale of artworks has suffered a 21 percent increase. Many people speak about the definitive death of the event due to the inability of spaces to face such high taxes. The truth is that, with three million euros, 25 percent less than last year, ARCO continues generating huge expectations among enthusiasts from all over the world.
