Fondazione Querini Stampalia. Bellini / Mantegna

A unique opportunity in the history of art: two masterpieces, identical in their compositional structure, painted by two great artists of the Renaissance, Andrea Mantegna and Giovanni Bellini, brought together in a landmark exhibition.

Staged with the expert assistance of the National Gallery of London, Mantegna's Presentation at the Temple, housed at the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, and Bellini's painting of the same subject, housed at the Querini Stampalia, will be shown side by side for the first time in the modern age.

The two paintings are exhibited on two surfaces converging at the center, such that they face each other. This creates a silent, absorbing dialogue between the two Renaissance masters, bound by family ties and engaged in artistic competition at the highest level.
