Works of cultural gallery in Venezuela are restored

Venezuelan specialists, completed the restoration of 19 polychromatic murals included in the Galeria a Cielo Abierto project, developed in the state of Merida during the 2013 International Tourism Fair, officials said. The president of the Venezuelan state of telphers (Ventel), Jose Martinez, said that an investment of 300 thousand bolivars (47 thousand 600 U.S. dollars) was authorized for the work.

The four thousand 500 square meters covering these murals represent a space for enjoyment and entertainment of the visitors, visibly improving the quality of life, he added.

With this artistic offering the main avenues of the capital of the entity are illustrated, as well as highlighting the history and worldview of the city. The three major viaducts with striking geometric figures were also colored. Meanwhile, biodiversity was reflected in a mural dedicated to Pico Bolivar, which characterizes the Andean state and makes it a tourist destination.

Martinez also emphasized the need for the restoration and maintenance to preserve the aesthetics and quality of the work, making the city a more friendly and dynamic place in the socio-cultural relationship between its inhabitants. All works were developed with the technique of traditional Latin American mural, with the participation of over 25 young members of art collective.
