In Orbit opens festival season in Granada

After twelve hours of uninterrupted concerts, En Órbita inaugurated this Saturday the festival season in Granada. The meeting celebrated its fourth edition with the 8 thousand tickets sold and a luxury poster, led by bands like Love of Lesbian, 091 and Fangoria.

Despite these unusual high temperatures in the month of May, the Armilla Fair enclosure was full since it opened its doors at two in the afternoon, with the Grenadines Margaux, until it closed, after the presentation of Fangoria , after two in the morning.

At that time, almost twenty artists went through the stages "Planetario Cervezas Alhambra" (main sponsor of the event) and "Satélite", where this year the participation of local bands doubled, with Las Dianas, Nevada, Nilsson, Vita Insomne , Harakiri Beach and Colectivo Da Silva representing the contemporary music of Granada.

Then it's the turn of the Catalans Love of Lesbian, who celebrate their twenty-year career with some very special concerts, like this one offered here.

And at ten o'clock in the festival (one o'clock in the morning) there comes a divine Alaska, voice and image of that electronic band called Fangoria, whose songs have become hymns and images of an era called "transition”, "Movida madrileña" or, simply, eighties ...

Those are songs that speak of tolerance, of respect to what is, or think, different ... lyrics that do not expire, that are still valid and that we have learned by heart several generations of Spanish people and even Latin Americans, because it was a coincidence that Alaska was born in Mexico, of Cuban mother and Spanish father ...

María Olvido Gara Jova, that is, Alaska, is in charge of telling us that the party is over; literally. We arrive on a Saturday with scorching sun and we leave, already on Sunday, with hundreds of stars shining on what was for centuries the capital of the Nasrid kingdoms.

Although it is three o'clock in the morning, the thermometers still mark 20 degrees. More than eight thousand people of all ages return to our homes, after being half a day (maybe half life?), IN ORBIT.

And this is only the beginning ... May 31st  and June 1st, at the Cortijo del Conde (Bull Music Festival) will be Medina Azahara, C. Tangana and Rozalén (among others) ... and September 20 and 21 , closing season, in the Granada Sound we wait for Vestusta Morla and Carmen Boza ...
