Acosta Danza in Chile: entrance through the big door

It may seem that the Chilean public has always known them: this warmth has been the reception that dance lovers have given to the Cuban company Acosta Danza in this country.

Acosta Danza made its debut before the Chilean public on January 3 at the Las Condes Municipal Theater as part of the program of the International Festival "Santiago a Mil", which takes place in different theaters of the city from January 6 to 26.

It could not have been better the opening of this 2020 season for the company that the day 3 played "Mermaid", by Cuban director Carlos Acosta, in general rehearsal for the media that echoed what was to happen in the Chilean stages.

On Saturday 4, was enjoyed "Faun", by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, played by the dancers Leticia Silva and Yasser Domínguez and on the 5th the meeting of dancers and teachers of Acosta Danza was beautiful with the Festival's audience at the Municipal Theater of Las Condes in Santiago de Chile.

The staging at the Municipal Theater of La Pintana of "Ten", a dance installation by Jorge Crecis, was a gift to the inhabitants of the community and once the performance was over, Acosta Danza received a tribute offered by Mayor Claudia Pizarro and from the audience.

The director of the company, meanwhile, reserved part of his time to pay a visit to the Municipal de Santiago, the oldest and most important active cultural center in the country, and recalled his time at the Municipal years ago, when he danced in galas and in Don Quijote along with to the Santiago Ballet.

For this January 10, the group is getting ready to perform at the Municipal Theater of Antofagasta and later exchange with the public.
