The celebration of love in the manner of Cristina García Rodero

The Juana de Aizpuru gallery is getting ready to receive from January 9 to February 20, 2020 the exhibition "Holi, the celebration of love" by the renowned Spanish artist Cristina García Rodero.

The opening scheduled for 20 hours on Thursday describes one of the most entrenched customs of India, the Holi, tradition that gives name and motive to the work of Cristina:

"Holi is the festival of color that is celebrated throughout India and commemorates the arrival of spring, the end of the harvest and the victory of good over evil.

Young people throw colored powders to desire love, fortune and vitality, while they dance and sing in the streets and temples.

In North India they commemorate Rada's divine love for Krishna. Women play to beat the men who protect themselves with shields to recreate the goddess's anger over Krishna's pranks."

There is plenty of motivation to accompany the multi-award-winning Spanish creator in this journey that combines art, traditions and feelings.
