Cienfuegos arrived at its 200th birthday

Suddenly the sky, first dark as it was prepared for a great cinematographic projection, was painted in multi-colored forms when the bells of the Church marked 12 o'clock on the night of this April 22, 2019.

Cienfuegos finally arrives, the old Villa Fernandina de Jagua, to its bicentennial, and all the children of the Pearl of Cuba were gathered to wait for the exact date of the foundation.

In the Martí Park, once the Plaza de Armas, this feast of fireworks took place, just after the Aragón finalized its concert on the stage that was improvised next to the Arco de los Trabajadores, because it was just like the emblematic orchestra wanted celebrate its 80th anniversary.

Proud of the people of Cienfuegos, who waited anxiously on April 22, accompanied with pleasure and dancing the best known genres of Cuban music through successes of the group that was born in that land founded by French in the center-south of the island.

Specially invited for the second centenary, the Excelencias Group headed by its president, José Carlos de Santiago, also participated in this moment in which the Cienfuegueros committed not only to continue taking care of their city so that it does not lose its charms, but to make it grow much more from now on, economically and social.
