Pirelli HangarBicocca. Daniel Steegmann Mangrané

With over twenty works, ranging from films, VR devices, 2D holograms, sculptures, and installations produced from 1998 to the present day, Pirelli HangarBicocca presents the first solo exhibition in Italy of Daniel Steegmann Mangrané (Barcelona, 1977; lives and works in Rio de Janeiro).

The work of Daniel Steegmann Mangrané ponders on the relationship between culture and nature and the artist's interest in biology has led him to analyze complex ecological systems in order to introduce the natural world into his art.

Placing the physical and sensory dimension of the viewer at the heart of the project, the exhibition will be characterized by a shift between material and immaterial experiences, expanded further through a site-specific intervention that will be made of white transparent fabric partitions both concealing and revealing the exhibited works. Like fluctuating membranes, these screens will give shape to the different areas of the show while allowing, by means of their transparency, an immediate overview of the entire exhibition.
