Some 300 artists to participate at Cienfuegos Carnival

Cienfuegos. - A group of 300 artists from Cienfuegos with some guests will bring their art during the opening gala of Cienfuegos Carnival 2015, to be held from August 5 to 9, dedicated to the traditions of the Cuban youth.

 

The show, with script and artistic general direction of Richard Eleaga Alderete, will take place at the Plaza de Actos of this city, at 9 pm of August 5, where the carnival will be inaugurated.

 

Among the artists making up the cast are singer and composer of country music María Victoria Rodríguez; singer Tony Águila and Alexander Abreu, from Cienfuegos and his group Havana D´Primera, along with humorists Omar Franco (Ruperto) and Leonardo Santisteban (Maracas).

 

A sample of carriages and muñecones from the Santiago de Cuba carnival; stilt walkers from Pinar del Río, and  fireworks, from Villa Clara sprees, will be some of the attractions to start these festivities, as announced its organizers.

 

In addition, children's projects such as Tía Rosa, Belkidia López and Abracadabra will bring color and joy to the party, together with the Giros musical show company, Kfe Mezclao group, and the legendary Príncipes del Barrio de la Caridad masquerade.

 

To enjoy the performances on the opening night, the inhabitants of Cienfuegos will have two thousand chairs located around the main platform.

 

From Thursday, August 6, with the food and cultural offers at the Malecón and the square, other spaces like recreational centers and popular councils will be animated with live performances, dance activities, recorded music, screens and audiovisuals.
