The Cuban group Maraca and his Latin Jazz All Stars recently made several successful performances with the public approval in several European countries and Mexico.
In Europe they performed in important places such as the legendary New Morning club in Paris, also in Nice, and the jazz cruise Seaborne, on a tour around the Mediterranean Sea from Cannes to Barcelona. These presentations included Joe Lovano, Marcus Miller, Eliane Elias, and other figures of the international scene.
Beside, in France they performed several live presentations in radio stations like TSF JAZZ.
In Mexico, they participated in the International Jazz Festival of Xalapa, Veracruz, where Maraca and this band of Latin jazz stars succeeded in a program that included drummer Antonio Sanchez and his band, and Mexico’s National Jazz Orchestra.
Maraca’s group (in charge of flutes and direction), joined Steve Turre (trombone and conchas), Giovanni Hidalgo (percussion), Mario Canonge (piano), Irving Acao (tenor saxophone), Tim Mayer (tenor saxophone), Jorge Reyes (bass), Yasek Manzano (trumpet and flugelhorn), Adel González (percussion) and Horacio Hernandez (drums).
During an exchange in the context of the International Festival of the University of Veracruz, in Mexico, Orlando Valle gave master classes in improvisation and flute and Big Band, as did Steve Turre on trombone in the history of jazz; Mario Canonge, on the piano and rhythms of Martinique; Giovanni Hidalgo on percussion; Jorge Reyes, about the Cuban bass; Yasek Manzano, on the trumpet, and Horacio Hernandez on the drums.
