Artizar Presents Romina Rivero and Victoria Ramírez Valiente at Art Photo Bcn and MARTE

Artizar reaffirms its commitment to contemporary art by showcasing Romina Rivero and Victoria Ramírez Valiente at two of Spain’s most relevant fairs. A unique opportunity to discover how the gallery champions works that challenge norms—whether through social critique or material experimentation.

Romina Rivero at Art Photo Bcn (Barcelona)

Event: Art Photo Bcn – Photography Festival & Fair

Dates: May 23–25, 2024

Location: Disseny Hub Barcelona

Represented by Artizar, artist Romina Rivero presents work that confronts the European “clear self” and the Eastern “blurred self,” exploring intersections between medicine, philosophy, and biopolitical violence. Centered on the feminine experience, her photography critiques historical and contemporary narratives of biopower, transforming pain into collective memory.

Key Details:

- Analysis of clinical discourses as tools of state control.

- Reclamation of feminine power in medicine and political creativity.

- Free activities at Art Photo Bcn: photobook market, portfolio reviews, and talks.

Victoria Ramírez Valiente at MARTE (Castellón)

Event: MARTE Contemporary Art Fair

Dates: May 23–25, 2024

Location: Palacio de Congresos de Castellón

Under Artizar’s banner, Victoria Ramírez Valiente exhibits a series reimagining water as a “sensory membrane,” merging organic techniques with the contemplation of marine movement. Her pieces, created with black strokes on white surfaces, capture water’s ephemerality and its dialogue with materials like dust, offering a sensory reflection on human perception.

Key Details:

- Exploration of surfaces (paper and sea) as spaces of exchange.

- Techniques highlighting matter’s mutable, organic nature.

- MARTE: The only contemporary art fair in the Valencian Community, ideal for emerging collectors.
