The Alejandro Humboldt National Park is a strictly protected area, Category II, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), World Natural Heritage and core of the Biosphere Reserve Cuchillas del Toa. It is located in the provinces of Holguin and Guantanamo, in the rainiest and coolest area of the country, which favors it with climate variability, wealth and endemism in flora and fauna.

This park is divided into four administrative areas, each one of them with unique characteristics and natural attractions; that is why the roads and trails designed for ecotourism are scattered throughout the area, guaranteeing exclusivity for the visitors.

The 80% of the area is covered by protective soil forest and water. Its rich hydrographic network is represented by fifteen sub basins and ten basins, including the Toa River, the largest river in the country, with birth in this area. The exuberance and conservation of its rain forests and ecosystems favors a fauna with species such as parrots, the catey, the Polymitas, the almiquí, and the manatee, among many others.

These paradisiacal landscapes are visited annually by about seven thousand tourists, nature lovers and committed to protecting the environment, who enjoy, appreciate and study the natural attractions of the area, through the trails and ecotourism routes conceived as forms of tourism , adventure, nature and scientific.

For the enjoyment of this unique beauty you can access the park from the city of Guantanamo by the municipality of Yateras road, also from the city of Baracoa on the road to Moa and from the city of Holguin taking the road to Moa-Baracoa.
