Art Marbella ART MARBELLA presents seven special projects in its fourth edition

Coming from Madrid, 28 0 14 Espacio de Arte exhibits works by Anuca Aísa and Paz Juristo together with photographs by María Carrión. Both photographic projects share an intimate and mystic vision but differ in their themes and concepts. Using the potential of digital photography, María Carrión reflects on the transience of the moment and the relationship between the visible and the invisible. Her monochrome images search for the extraordinary in the ordinary to explore the concept of the human life as wandering life. This search of the intangible though the corporeal contrasts and relates itself to the proposal made by Anuca Aínsa and Paz Juristo, who in their work go from the material to the symbolic. Their photographs, inspired by the work of Japanese writer Junichiro Tanizaki "Fumiko´s foot", show images full of sensuality and beauty.

Arena Martínez presents a collection of kimonos decorated with works by the artists Papartus, Juan Sotomayor and Torre Mayado, who have turned the garments into pieces of art that can be worn. The kimonos have been sewn by hand and connect two creative worlds: art and fashion design.

Seeking to promote the work of the artists of the city, the City Council of Marbella presents the curatorial project In_House, which brings together six local creators whose radius of action and influence overflows the limits of the city. The artists Paco Sanguino, Mónica Vázquez Ayala, Rosario Olarte, Deborah Notenson, Paula Vincenti and Lía G exhibit their works in a stand curated by Adolfo Sánchez Flores. The works presented share the quality of being both local and global, reflecting the spirit of the city and the concept of home.

The discourse of In_House is constructed around this concept of “things from home”. Thus, Mónica Vázquez Ayala in her photographs x-rays the loneliness of her home, full of objects that help her isolate herself from reality and cushion the outside world. This inclination towards introversion is also shown by Paco Sanguino in his pictorial series "La Casa del Loco", where he represents the inner struggle in which one is never a visitor, in which one plays at home but does not know if one wins or loses. Rosario Olarte instead focuses on everyday objects to honor them and put them in value. Another concept of home that relates it to family ties and the community is explored by Debora Notenson, who starts from found objects to articulate a critical vision of the domestic environment. Paula Vicenti in her compositions juxtaposes the internal world with the shared daily life, the personal to the social. In a broader sense of home, more in connection with the local and the urban is the photography of Lía G, whose series Lovesong reflects through the teenagers she portrays the social values of Marbella: cosmopolitanism, diversity and freshness.

Another proposal that unites art and design is El Museo - XX Century Signed furniture, a new concept of tourism that allows you to enjoy in the historic centre of Malaga in the historic centre of Malaga a complex of holiday apartments that will house an impressive collection of works of art by contemporary renowned artists from all around the world. El Museo will also have original furniture from the 50s created by some of the most important architects of the 20th century, such as Le Corbusier or Jean Prouve. On its stand at Art Marbella El Museo presents the work of Adriana Torres, one of the 30 artists who will intervene in the Apartments with Art.

Within the special projects of Art Marbella is also Genalguacil Pueblo Museo, which on its stand brings us closer to this special town in the province of Malaga, whose biannual art meetings have transformed the town into an authentic open-air museum. Every two years the City Council organizes a multitudinous event in which creators from all over the world produce works that they then donate to the town.

The proposal is completed with the stand of Sholeh Abghari Project, which presents in Art Marbella a careful selection of works by five essential artists of the contemporary Iranian art scene. The space of Sholeh Abghari seeks to bring closer the contemporary creation of the country, one of the nations of the Middle East that is most emerging in the international art scene. Thanks to this project visitors can enjoy in Art Marbella works by Samira Alikhnzadeh, Hadi Alijani, Nastaran Safaei, Mahdieh Pazoki and Bijan Ghaseminejad.

The special projects also include this year the VIP Lounge, which has been designed by Blanca Pera Interior Design, who has taken as inspiration La Dolce Vita to create a space for relaxation and enjoyment. This area will also show the works of So What Studio, integrated by local artists Paula Vincenti and María Egea.
