Fifth edition of the Patria Grande Festival

The fifth edition of the Patria Grande Latin American and Caribbean Music Festival will take place from November 9 to 17, in which musicians from seven countries will participate: Belize, Costa Rica, Mexico, El Salvador, Chile, Argentina and Cuba. Among the main motivations of the Festival stands out the reopening of the Maxim Rock, an important place for the Cuban rock audience, as well as the concerts in the Cuba Pavilion.

In an interview with Sebastián Heredia, Festival Coordinator pointed out "having reached five editions of a music that is not the most popular in Cuba and is very popular in these countries where there are festivals such as Vive Latino (Mexico), Cosquín Rock (Argentina) or Rock al Parque (Colombia) seems to me the greatest success. As well as having achieved a proposal sustained for five years, with a great variety of styles and artists."

"This year comes to the event Here Comes The Kraken, a Mexican band that the Cuban rock audience has wanted to hear for a long time," concluded Heredia. Stand out from the gests The Belizeans Verge of Umbra, the Costa Rican groups Totem and Nobody's Reason, this last one explosive fusion of metal, rap and reggae.

Organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association, the Cuban Institute of Music and the support of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba, the Patria Grande will arrive in Pinar del Río on the 11th, Santa Clara on the 14th, Sancti Spíritus on the 15th and Matanzas on the 16th. It is an itinerant festival. At the press conference that will be held on November 8 at the Hall of May of the Cuba Pavilion, at 11 o'clock in the morning, other details of the program will be offered.
