As the Hong Kong government has lifted mask-wearing requirement in the city, we look forward to a face-to-face reunion with you at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in less than two weeks. You can expect to see the following highlights and more at the show.
In the Encounters sector, dedicated to large-scale sculptures and installations by leading international artists, 13 projects can be found across the two floors, including Gimhongsok’s Solitude of Silences, and Fountain: Night Garden by Nabuqi. For the first time, Encounters will also include a project beyond the halls with the world premiere of Awol Erizku’s Gravity at Pacific Place. The public installation is supported by Swire Properties, Official Partner of Offsite Encounters.

Conversations, our thought-provoking series of roundtable discussion on topics concerning the global contemporary art scene curated by Stephanie Bailey, will be back in the Level 1 Auditorium at the HKCEC. Curated by multimedia artist and film producer Li Zhenhua, the Film sector will present eight screenings of 29 films by and about artists, including a special screening of Memoria, the bewildering drama directed by Palme d’Or winning director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, starring Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton. The short film program features collaborations with Hong Kong-based Videotage, as well as Bangkok’s video and performance art triennale Ghost 2565, curated by Christina Li.
