PULSE Contemporary Art Fair. Announcing PROJECTS Performances and Installations

PULSE Miami Beach is thrilled to announce its PROJECTS for the 2017 edition which returns to Indian Beach Park from Thursday, December 7 through Sunday, December 10. Through the performances and large-scale installations included in PROJECTS, the fair builds on its legacy of strong programming to compliment its diverse community of local and international exhibitors.

PULSE kicks off opening day with Aya Rodriguez- Izumi's interactive installation, Wish. Rodriguez-Izumi will encourage visitors to join in reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the next using the Japanese tradition of the Ema – a wooden wishing plaque. Be one of the first to partake during the Young Collectors Cocktails on Thursday, December 7 from 5pm - 7pm.

Other PROJECTS speak to our political and social climate and provide an insight into how artists are interpreting current events. Phoenix Lindsey-Hall's Never Stop Dancing examines violence in queer communities through 49 porcelain disco balls, invoking reflection and paying homage to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting that took place in Orlando last year. Fischer Cherry updates conventional symbols of fertility by juxtaposing objects associated  with traditional female gender roles with the latest fertility advancements and medications in her installation, Fertility.
