May 15 is the deadline for the Magnum Photos applications. Magnum Photos members will gather on the last weekend of June to discuss issues linked to the organizations and to vote for potential members. Winning candidates will become nominated members.
Photographers living in the Americas should send their portfolios to Magnum Photos’ office in New York by contacting on photography@magnumphotos.com; Europeans (excluding the UK) should send them to the Paris office: magnum@magnumphotos.fr.
UK-based photographers, from the Commonwealth, Africa, South East Asia and the Middle East should send their portfolios to the Magnum Photos’ office in London (magnum@magnumphotos.co.uk), while those living in Japan should send them to the Tokyo office: tokyo@magnumphotos.co.jp
Magnum Photos should not be held accountable for portfolios sent by ordinary mail. Up to 80 digital images can be sent (neither videos nor slides will be accepted). Resolution must be 100 dpi without exceeding 1,000 pixels long. They must be sent on a CD-ROM as .jpeg files with 8-10 compression, numbered according to any desired order for the presentation. The number of the photo must come first in the file name (make sure the write two digits for proper sequence, i.e. 01, 02, 03) followed by your last name (i.e. 01Smith, 02Smith, 03Smith).
A comment on the work, a résumé, a brief biography and updated contact information must be attached. Each CD must be labeled with the contact’s name and address for returns.
