Buenos Aires: Over 70 galleries from Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico will be attending the 20th edition of ArteBA Contemporary Art Fair, May 19-23.

 

Among others: Budich-Giesso, Aldo de Sousa, Arte x Arte, Isabel Anchorena, Jacques Martinez, Masottatorres, Nora Fisch, Pabellon 4, Rubbers, Johann König, Tanya Leighton, PSM, Chert and Andersen’s Contemporary from Germany; Ruth Benzacar and Vasari from Argentina; A Gentil Carioca and Mendes Wood from Brazil; Casas Riegner (Bogota), Monclova Projects (Mexico DF) from Mexico; as well as institutions such as Recoleta Cultural Center, Malba, Museo de Arte Tigre, Klemm Foundation. La Nacion’s Secretariat of Culture will participate in this new edition with works created by Argentine sculptor Rogelio Yrurtia, Casa de Yrurtia Museum.

 

The launching of U-Turn Project Rooms by Mercedes-Benz, space where 18 artists from different areas of the world will boost the creative development linked to architecture, is one of scoops at ArteBa, with the curatorship of prestigious Abaseh Mirvali, producer in Mexico, Berlin and the Middle East, and executive director (2005-2008) of Jumex Foundation/Collection.

 

This novelty is accompanied by other segments such as Barrio Joven Chandon (5 artists with works created in the last two years); Open Forum conference space; the eighth edition of Petrobras Visual Arts Award, and the second call for Arcos Dorados Contest of Latin American Painting, for artists under 35 years old who use this technique.

 

Banco Ciudad will be present with cycle “Charlas de Living” as well as part of its artistic collection. LAN will provide its audio-guide free service so visitors can enjoy an exclusive tour. On the other hand, “ARNET te conecta con el arte” artistic project will be on the map where artists Romina Orazi, Marcela Cabutti, Elisa Strada and Roberto Padilla, invited by curator Maximo Jacoby, will be working in situ in a public interaction platform. Blackberry offers the first official application of ArteBA for blackberry smart phones; while La Nacion journal and TELEFE renew their commitment as ArteBA’smedia partners, contributing to shed light on contemporary art. La Nacion will give its readers a free special supplement of adn cultura, 36 pages, with all the information on the fair. Different publications will also participate, among them: Art Nexus, Arte al dia, Hoy arte hoy, Magenta, Mapa de las artes and Que hacemos magazine.

 

ArteBA Feria of Contemporary Art, turns Buenos Aires into a touristic pole and business center, for it promotes the visit of outstanding collectors and figures of culture, who want to discover new proposals.
