A Different Contest

Among the commemorative actions to celebrate its 15th anniversary, the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum has set going a photography contest with Puppy –a spectacular piece standing outside the institution and created by Jeff Koons which is made of stainless steel and covered by plants that depict a puppy. This project counts on the collaboration of Samsung and the Meliá Bilbao Hotel.

From March 15 to April 15 and through the museum’s website on Facebook (http://es-es.facebook.com/guggenheimbilbaomuseoa), contestants could send their images taken since 1997 to date as long as they illustrate a special and memorable moment next to the sculpture. The 50 most-voted images will be exhibited in one of the museum’s hall during the entire month of May.

From all the pictures submitted for this contest, a jury will handpick three that will also be displayed and will get additional prizes: a Samsung NX200 camera for the top prize, a weekend stay for two in a Meliá hotel (second prize) and a Samsung MV800 camera for the third place.

The jury’s decision will be announced on April 19, 2012 on the abovementioned Facebook site.
