Printed Art: A New Encounter

The First Hispanic American Symposium on Printed Art will unfold July 25-27, 2012 in Argentina’s Tucuman.

The Engraving Workshop at the Art School attached to the National University of Tucuman, will host this event dedicated to the theoretical and practical study of engraving and etching, artistic creations that have been sometimes put on the sidelines of arts and in which the supportive elements are rendered insignificant.

The symposium seeks to enhance the exchange on some related topics by means of an open call for teachers, researchers, artists and advanced students who are currently working on these aspects. The event is designed in a number of axes: interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary fields; education; creation and circulation of artistic creation; traditional and nontraditional techniques and proceedings, and alternative editions.

Though the call for would-be attendees to hand in their works in different modalities ended on May 15, there’s still a chance to attend lectures as auditors and read the posters hanged by some of the participating professionals.
