Vidal Exhibits Again

Antonio Vidal, how was awarded a National Prize on Fine Arts, inaugurated on July 13 at Villena Hall of Cuba’s Writers & Artists National League, an exhibition commemorating his sixty years or artistic career.

Brand-new pieces and other that are already known, totaling twenty, move between painting and collage, and make up ANTONIO VIDAL 60 años despues, a tribute paid by the Cuban institution to this great artist of abstraction.

Vidal carried out his first exhibition in 1952, and joined in 1953 one of the milestones in the history of Cuban art: el Grupo de los Once (Group of the Eleven). His work has followed a coherent and refreshing line within abstract expressionism, characterized by a complex personality, but undoubtedly charming. He was one of the founders of Cuba’s Writers &Artists National League (UNEAC) and the Engraving Experimental Workshop.

A man, an artist, with too much to say. Admiring the sensorial deconstruction of his proposals is worth it.
