Warhol in Vegas

Fifty-nine artworks that make up Andy Warhol Museum’s collection in Pittsburgh, are going to be exhibited from February to October 2013 at Belaggio Gallery of Fine Arts (BGFA), one of the most important cultural destinations in Las Vegas. Warhol Out West includes iconic paintings, sculptures, pictures, silk screens and painted papers; among them the famous images of celebrities and consumption products, the series of ads created during the 1980s, acclaimed Double Elvis, as well as works included in Cowboys and Indians series.

“The exhibition at Bellagio is going to be a one-of-a-kind entire collection on Andy Warhol in USA, similar to his homonymous museum in Pittsburgh, and this is a great honor to our city”, Tarissa Tiberti, executive director of the BGFA, said.Eric Shiner, director of Andy Warhol Museum, commented: “we expect visitors to reflect on relation between the images they are watching and the scenery in Las Vegas, from the kitsch to the fantastic and every nuance in both poles.”

Warhol Out West will be open through October 27. The audio-tour is included in the ticket price.
