Latin American Photography

National calls for Saltando Muros project will be open through March 31, an initiative of FIART Foundation (International Arts Fund), with the collaboration of the Latin American General Secretariat and the Extremaduran Center of Studies and Cooperation with Latin America CEXECI, to shed light on the photographic work of emerging artists from Latin America, Spain and Portugal.

This initiative comes up of the need to revert the limited or null public and private support offered to new generations of creators, particularly in the world of photography, since this mean has been spread and popularized by digital technologies.

Dominican Republic, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru and Spain have launched national calls organized by cultural institutions and museums. Each one of them is to handpick five proposals.

Artists younger than 35 can present two unpublished projects (no less than 4 pictures and no more than 6) on the theme The thought. El pensamiento. La idea. A selection of pieces will be carried out, which will make up an international traveling exhibition to be showcased in Latin American museums in 2013.
