Two Dialoguing Collections

Valladolid’s Patio Herreriano will be hosting, through May 5, a collective exhibition that proposes the exploration of connections between two heritage representatives of Spanish art: DKV and Contemporary Art.

Dialogos. Coleccion DKV-Coleccion Arte Contemporaneo tries to establish theme and formal links among works created by different authors, so “couples” come up to build new relations into each other, within a network of "unpublished" ties around the common core of "art and health ".

Cristina Fontaneda, director of the Museum, told EUROPA PRESS that the initiative was born as an exhibition and has become a broader project; it’s been a joint work not only to show part of the collections, but to study the works and look for possible connections that enrich the reading of the showcase.

DKV collection was put on the map when they started working at Marina Salud Hospital in an effort to turn it into a more human and healthy space through art, so the DKV Arte y Salud came up, a germ of the present DKV collection, made up of 310 artworks, from different disciplines, created by 120 Spanish artists, most of which began their career in the 1990s.

The proposal gets widened for Dialogos, around the same topic "art and health", with workshops for people at Valladolid’s City Hall Occupational. Furthermore, an exhibition will be organized with the materials produced within the framework of this activity, and it will be showcased at Integralia DKV foundation in Barcelona, at ciudArt hall of Marina Salud Hospital in Denia and Patio Herreriano’s Sala Cero.
