Fundacion Telefonica Documents

A new approach to the world of documentaries, merging the vision of young creators and those who are already famous, that’s what Fundacion Telefonica proposes for an event aimed at giving professional and amateur producers an opportunity to reinterpret their environment and publicly share their work.

Through March 21, the candidates can present their movie projects, which must be at least ten minutes long. Between March 25 and 27, the selection committee, headed by moviemaker Isaki Lacuesta, will handpick the ten finalists, which will be joined by the one that receives most of the public votes. Three projects are going to be chosen and their authors will travel, starting in April, to the Latin American region where their project is to be developed, counting on five weeks to record and edit.

This edition tackles the eradication of children labor in Latin America, an issue that is tightly linked to Fundacion Telefonica’s objective of contributing to the development of individuals and communities that build the future society. Fundacion Telefonica will pay for the production of the documentary –up to 6,000 €–, and give 3,000 € for each producer. Television Española will screen the three winning audiovisuals.
