3rd Latin American Art Biennial Opens in Prague

The 3rd Latin American Art Biennial was inaugurated at Prague’s Cervantes Institute on April 4 and will be open through April 25. The Biennial kicked off four years ago and was an initiative carried out by Latin American embassies based at the Czech Republic’s capital.

Some of the countries that make up this display are Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Among the artists we can mention Carlos Llanos, from Uruguay; Carolina Zenteno, from Chile; Jose Guadalupe Posada, from Mexico; Richard Hoineff, from Brazil; David Castro and from Peru.

Along with the visual arts exhibition, which includes 70 works in different formats and techniques, the biennial has organized a series of conferences in which artists will have a space to reflect on art.

On the other hand, the biennial has also organized a Cycle of Latin American Art, which includes a varied screening program.

The event will be also paying tribute to Mexican writer Carlos Fuentes, the name of the library at Prague’s Cervantes Institute.
