Meetings on Contemporary Art at the Center for Visual Art Development in Havana

As part of the meetings entitled Talking on Contemporary Art, the Center for Visual Art Development (CDAV is the Spanish acronym) has hosted Prof. Javier G. Vilaltella to keynote on one particular topic: A Globalized World: Art between DOCUMENTA and Market.

 

Prof. Vilaltella, a critic, philosopher, art historian and expert in Cultural Studies currently teaches at the Ludwig-Maximilian Universität in Munich.

 

On the abovementioned topic, the professor will address the resistance challenging the contemporary art in relation to the strain between art and market, based on his experiences in one of the world’s major international fairs: The Documenta Fair in Kassell, Germany.

 

The chat will be held at the Conference Hall of the Center for Visual Art Development on May 2 at 3:00 pm.
