Contests and Prizes at Buenos Aires Architecture Biennial (BA13)

A month and half before the beginning of BA13 Buenos Aires International Architecture Biennial, September 21 – October 13, we witness the launch of the first contests and prizes, and the wining works will be showcased in the exhibition to take place at Recoleta Cultural Center. The event is being organized by Buenos Aires Architecture Biennial – BienalBA and Pichon Riviere & Diaz Bobillo Consultores -PR&DB. The Direction Committee is made up of Roberto Converti, Enrique Cordeyro, Carlos L. Dibar, Juan Carlos Fervenza, Matías Glusberg, Miguel Jurado, Daniel Muñiz, Enrique Pichon Riviere and Carlos Sallaberry (Director).

 

First of all, CEDU Contest /Architecture Biennial/PR&DB Consultants on Interior Design and Urban furniture, is aimed at promoting the National Design Culture, taking into account the impact on the environment, the selection and application of chosen materials, the recognition of available resources, their cost-benefit relation, social value and use of recycled materials. The call targets Argentinean or foreign designers, artists, architects, who live in Argentina, and students of these specialized fields, who can send their recent work on interior or exterior design of houses or work spaces. The works are to be delivered through August 30. The Jury will be made up of Architect Diana Cabeza, DI. Hugo Kogan, DI. Miki Friedenbach, Architect Miguel Jurado, Architect Raúl Sáenz Valiente, Architect Juan Carlos Fervenza and Matías Glusberg. The First Prize is worth $ 15.000 and the second one is $ 12.500.

 

Hydro in Argentina Prize/ Architecture Biennial to the Best Aluminum Façade, will be paying tribute to architecture works that include facades, in order to encourage creativity and the appropriate use of architecture materials through the contribution of innovative and functional solutions. The competitors shall send three digital pictures of their work through August 29. The facades must have been made with Hydro profiles and built between 2011 and 2012. A pre-selection will be carried out and the chosen participants will present their panels through September 10. The prize is organized by Hydro Aluminium Argentina and BA13 Biennial. The jury will be made up of architects Juan Fervenza, Roberto Converti, Miguel Jurado and Pedro Wofcy; Eng. Eduardo Juliá and Arch. Andrea Santoro. The first prize will be an Apple IMAC PC AIO MD093LE/A computer, and a Tablet Apple IPAD 4 3G 64GB MD518LE/A for the second one. All awarded and selected works will be included in the exhibition to take place during BA13 Biennial at Recoleta Cultural Center.
