“Memorias de la obsolescencia” Exhibit at Wifredo Lam Center

Cisneros Fontanals Europe Foundation, the National Council of Fine Arts and Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center are pleased to invite you to the exhibition Memorias de la obsolescencia (Memories of Obsolescence) that opened Sunday night with a singer-songwriter Kelvis Ochoa’s concert.

This show puts together a group of artworks belonging to Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection, having video as common element. The artists invited will be presenting a diversity of historic referents: the first experiments with video, which in the 1960s and 70s were linked to conceptualist avant-gardism, feminist art, hybrid cultures of contemporaneity, the desire to intervene in the construction processes of history and reflections on space politics of the urban, just to mention some.

Ella Fontanals-Cisneros collection includes important artworks created by representative artists from the international artistic stage, placing special emphasis on contemporary Latin American art. This exhibition is the continuity of "Una mirada multiple (A multiple look)" show (organized by CIFO-Europe Foundation) and presented to the Cuban public within the context of the eleventh edition of Havana Biennale.
