RAQS Media Collective’s Workshop at CA2M

Madrid’s CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo is presently organizing a workshop to be delivered by Raqs Media Collective, a group of multidisciplinary artists from New Delhi, created in 1992 by Jebesh Bagchi, Monica Narula and Shuddhabrata Sengupta. Starting with what Federico Garcia Lorca called "The constant baptize of the just-created things", the workshop proposes the creation of a dialogue with artworks, ideas and on-going projects. How to find space, create knowledge, read stories and build a wishes archive? Raqs Media Collective takes the world just as it is, not as a destination, but as a starting point and they insist in the "creation" of the world as a constant and daily practice, in which art and life meet face to face.

The workshop is going to take place on September 17 - 19, 2013, 16:30 - 20:30 hours. The workshop will be given in English language and targets students and professionals linked to the world of art, architecture, design and any other person interested in the contemporary creation.

In May 2014, CA2M will be organizing an exhibition on Raqs Media Collective, curated by Cuauhtémoc Medina and Ferran Barenblit, who will attend the event.

The registration is for free and September 10 sets the deadline. Registration through the center’s website http://ca2m.org. Further information on actividades.ca2m@madrid.org. Telephone 91 276 02 27.
