“El Museo en Futuro. Cruces y Desvios”, 2013 ADACE Meeting

The Association of Spain’s Contemporary Art Directors (ADACE) organizes "El Museo en Futuro. Cruces y Desvios (Future Museum. Crossing and Diversion)", to take place on November 6, 7 and 8, in Madrid. The meeting is focused on the future of museums in this time of radical transformations and it tries to be an exchange and debate forum in an effort to analyze matters that affect the relations between the public and cultural institutions. Furthermore, these sessions will be stressing the need to promote new ways of funding, producing and spreading arts, as well as collaboration and exchange networks.

19:00 h. The illusion of future. The fate of culture and decline of the public. Jose Luis Pardo

 

November 7

10.30 - 11.30 h. Lecture by Stephen Wright: Museum 3.0

12.00 - 14.00 h. Presentations and round table:

Bart de Baere: The failure of ideology on the web.

Sol Henaro: Action that reverberate, collaborations in and out of the institution.

Javier Rodrigo: Educational networks: challenges of collective pedagogies.

Moderated by Ferran Barenblit, director of Dos de Mayo Art Center, and Laurence Rassel, Director of Antoni Tàpies Foundation, Barcelona.

17.00 - 19.00 h. Presentations and round table:

Arturo Rubio Arostegui: The background of funding crisis of arts and culture in Europe, 21st century: values, fantasies, utopias?, paradigm of digital cultural.

Enric Senabre: Collective funding and other emerging phenomenon related to digital culture.

Maria del Mar Villafranca: New perspectives for public financing of culture in Spain.

Moderated by Jose Guirao, director of Casa Encendida, and Juan de Nieves, director of Rupert Center, Vilnius.

 

November 8

12.00 - 14.00 h. Presentations and round table:

Manuel Borja-Villel: Public museum and the populist reason

Moderated by Miguel von Hafe, director of the Galician Center of Contemporary Art, Santiago de Compostela and Bartomeu Mari, Director of Museu d'Art Contemporani, Barcelona

Antonio Collados: Empty boxes and full squares: new sceneries of cultural production.

Daniel Garcia Andujar: Artists on the ditch, where are the promises?

Moderated by Benjamin Weil, director of Laboral Art Center, Gijon and Glòria Picazo, director La Panera Art Center, Lleida.

19.30 h. Lecture by Boris Groys, The museum, between Archive and Gesamtkunstwerk
