JAVIER RIERA’s ''Configuraciones y Resonancias'' at Adora Calvo

Adora Calvo Gallery is going to showcased, starting on April 12, an exhibition by Javier Riera that is conceived as a flow of elements that are interweaved and can take several meanings depending on their reading. The relation between geometry and landscape, light as time measure or the interaction with animals are some of the topics he tackles on his works, which include screenings and pictures of interventions carried out by Javier Riera on landscape.

Configuraciones refers to the visibility of elements that flow or are unstable and meet each other by adopting certain shape in a specific time. The term usually stands for groups of natural elements defined by the resulting shapes of their physical or energetic qualities, shapes that find no equivalent on human thinking.

The coincidence of sonorous or electromagnetic frequencies lies on the base of the resonance concept, which is used by the artist to allude to the possible relation between landscape and geometry, drawn by such as inconsistent and subtle matter as light. Alien to the manipulation of images, Javier Riera directly works on nature in his search for an experience "in the true space and time of the scenery ". For this artist, geometry is the key to open the visibility to qualities and dimensions on natural spaces.

The display tries to integrate physical experience and reflection on the way images are built in our mind, the way they are stored and disappear. The true light as image generator in photography, imaginary light as the inner light in our mind, which needs the word but also dreams and thinks of images just like animals seem to do.

Opening: Saturday April 12, 12:00 h.
