ARTESANTANDER to Hold 23rd Edition

ARTESANTANDERis set to carry out its 23rd edition, definitively relaunched as a "ProjectsFestival", adapted to the new reality of the art market and the overall society in an effort to feature better resources management and gain accessibility, profitability and efficacy.

This is all possible because of the full support provided by the two institutions that organize the show (Cantabria’s Ministry of Culture, Education and Sport, and Santander’s City Hall), so its executive board is always paying attention to every element that might boost the show and they adapt to different situations.

The event is going to take place on July 26 – 30, 2014, at Santander’s Exhibition and Congress Palace, matching up with "Contemporary Art Curating and Collecting"contest, which is included in Menéndez Pelayo International University’s Program (UIMP is the Spanish acronym), -an initiative promoted by both the Contemporary Art Institute and Association of Contemporary ArtPrivate Collectors 9915 to foster a collective reflection on the importance of collecting and the intellectual work developed by cultural mediators-, headed by Gloria Picazo, andTania Pardo in charge of the academic secretariat, including the participation of collections (JUMEXCollection, CV Collection, CIRCA XX, La Caixa Foundation, among others).

The applications to take part in ARTESANTANDER 2014 are going to be previously evaluated by the selection committee, made up of Elena Vozmediano, Alicia Ventura and Juan Silió.

The committee shall choose the projects according to their quality and it will announce the result to the selected galleries and projects. The applications can be sent to the show’s address through June4 toinfo@artesantander.com, since that’s the deadline to apply for space in Artesantander.

ARTESANTANDERfeatures the Collectors Program to encourage the presence of people in charge of museums, art centers and collections in order to become a proposal observatory, an artist "seedbed" within the range of national and international people dealing with contemporary art.

The application forms and participation guidelines are available on www.artesantander.com
