Relevant Cuban Pianist Frank Fernandez Announces Big Concert

Fernandez told Prensa Latina that he will perform a diverse repertoire of Cuban pieces and some works of his authorship. Furthermore, he will enjoy the company of soprano Barbara Llanes to give the audience unforgettable songs.

The Vice President of the Russian government Dmitry Rogozin, who is visiting this Caribbean country, gave yesterday the creator of the Cuban contemporary piano school the Pushkin Medal, granted by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Thus, Fernández became the first Cuban in history to receive such an honor.

Critics from several continents praise the virtuosity of the pianist, graduated magna cum laude at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.

For some he is "a being touched by divinity", others emphasize his power on the piano and most agree to describe him as one of the master interpreters of the most sublime moments in universal music and thus, one of the greatest pianists in the world.

With more than 200 awards in his curriculum, Fernandez has won a reputation of versatile musician, inasmuch as he has over 650 compositions in different formats: ballets, choirs, soundtracks for film, radio, television, and arrangements for popular music groups.
