“DIÁLOGOS” exhibition by María Aranguren at APGALLERY

APGALLERY organizes its first residence with artist Maria Aranguren from Madrid with the title Diálogos. The creation made by Aranguren during her stay at the gallery will be linked to her most recent work.

On March 21, the opening of the APGALLERY residence to take place on March 21along with an exhibition, in which the public will have the opportunity to see a selection the work carried out by María Aranguren. The exhibition, which will refer and involve her workshop, will be an example of the development of her artistic process and will express her related to her paintings and the with which she has been working in the last years.

The residence has been conceived as an opening studio, in which the public will have the opportunity to visit the Aranguren´s workshop every weekend, see her works and talk to her. Also the artist will invite you to share a moment of, in which toy can know her creative process closer.

With the end of her residence, Aranguren will present her new work, which will be included in the exhibition continuing the dialogue process expressed by her, and you will have the opportunity to see it until May 2.

Marta Maíz y Enrique Herrada, APGALLERY directors, have selected María Aranguren for her to open the residences period due to the certainness that her work will be undoubtedly influenced and enriched by the experience of the Martín Muñoz de Ayllón landscape.

APGALLER, with this exhibition formula linked to the artistic residence, has the purpose to keep improving the way to exhibit adding this time to the contemporary work the experience related to the landscape and the direct access to the author in the context of the creation. APGALLERY defers from the other galleries since it offers the art associated to the natural space, a moment in which the viewer´s receptivity is better. Also, it provides a unique context for the contemporary art, a constant communication with the landscape.

Since it was created in 2014, APGALLERY has as original statement to understand the experience related to the contemplation of the art work as a comprehensive, intellectual and sensorial experience associated to the landscape. Also, it states the incorporation of ¨the journey¨ -understood as observation of the gradual transformation of the scene and the everyday rhythms as a variable to add in the perception and sensibility of the viewer.

Biography

María Aranguren, Madrid, 1961.

Degree in Fine Arts by the Complutense University in Madrid.

Maria has a large professional carrier with many solo and collective echibitions like those celebrated at the Astarté gallery (Madrid) since 1995, La Nave gallery (Valencia) in 2004, Global Art Source (Zurich) in 2003, Berliner Kunts Gallery (Alemania) in 2004 and at the Vermeta gallery (Buenos Aires) in 2004.

She has participated in important Spanish and international fairs such as Artissima (Turín), ArteBA (Buenos Aires), Arte Lisboa, Scope Basel (Basilea) and the Biennal of Casablanca, 2014.

Her work has been award many times and is part of public and private collections.

From 2006 to 2014, Maria Aranguren was in charge of the artistic direction of “lametro”, an exhibition room of FGV in the Colon station in Valencia. Durign this period, she assumed the curatorship and staging of many exhibitions by different renowned and emerging artists as well as of artistic of different kinds within the contemporary art.

Since 1965, she has been working for the ASTARTÉ Gallery, to which she is linked through a close professional relation.
