Between Sigh and Silence / Jorge Santos Marcos

On April 3, at 6:00 pm, Miami Art Connection Gallery (5347 SW 8th St. Miami) will open to the public the especial exhibition titled "Between Sigh and Silence", by Cuban artist Jorge Santos Marcos.

A 2004 graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts "San Alejandro," the work of Jorge Santos (Havana, 1973) shows us the most terrible and heartbreaking side of human beings. There is much suffering behind his canvases, muchanguish. One senses a silence that pervades everything.

Dominated by an expressionist aesthetics and a visible opacity of the color range, these awesome canvases and boards make us wonder how much of the author himself is behind them. Thus, poses an interesting and alarming question.

The domain of the compositions, the distribution of areas and spaces of representation, as well as the skills to reflect the depths of human psychology, speak of an artist of unquestionable quality and rigor.
