Simón Arrebola: "Itinerancias Espirituales"

With a scenographic sense of painting, Simón Arrebola proposes a narrative trip which paths are a consequence of the threat that glides above our existence’s transience.

The experiences lived through the journey, as physical as spiritual, have led to diverse literary and artistic manifestations that put into evidence particular cosmogonical conceptions. These pretend to grant some kind of comfort or an explanation of what happens, if something happens, after death.

The curse of these inner- explorations mainly flow into three imaginary places: Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, which meaning and sense are conceived in many religions. The topographic order that has been followed in this exposition obeys Dante’s evolution at the Divine Comedy after his wandering through these three stadiums.

The structure of the proposed landscape keeps the narrative succession described by Alighieri acting as a backdrop. Above him, a series of voiceless actors superpose wandering along rooms and crannies and shape the imaginary space as a place of places.
