Zona Franca at Cuban Contemporary Art in Havana

Havana, Cuba.-"Zona Franca" (Free Trade Zone), one of the largest exhibitions on Cuban art of the last few years, are today among the most visited spaces of the 12th Biennial of Havana, to be concluded on June 22.

This collateral exhibition located at the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress allows to appreciate the diversity of the island's contemporary work in one single place, that is a great credit, painter Harold Lopez told Prensa Latina. While the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress was the venue for previous editions of the largest visual arts event in Cuba, "Zona Franca" is a different concept and brings together an important number of artists from the country, Lopez stated.

According to David Velazquez, which displays his personal exhibition "Ansias," "Zona Franca" is one of the most comprehensive exhibitions of the last few years, a platform to reveal in the national and international scene.

The Biennial is the most important local event in visual arts and with the course of time, win in organization: the National Council of the Plastic Arts and the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets already has a broad experience in this kind of events, he said.
