Swab Seed adds to the Swab Barcelona program 2015

In recent years, the art scene in Barcelona has generated a good number of new independent spaces dedicated to contemporary art. Sites, platforms and people pulling forward artistic proposals, exhibitions, residences, events ... regardless of the officiality of the institutional. Artistic proposals that improve the chances of art work, offering relevant professional and significant experiences for the local context and its connections to the International field.

For the first time, Swab Seed adds to the Swab Barcelona program 2015 with a space of visibility and debate focused on independent proposals mostly located in Barcelona. Spaces that, since the power and instability of depending only on themselves, have become one of the most successful and dynamic scenarios of the cultural landscape of the city in which they find themselves.

Swab Seed operates from a dual registration. On one hand, it is a physical space of collective presentation of separate spaces (work methodologies, artists, related, specific projects). On the other, and under the title of intensity and Survival: artistic practice from the independent, a public program of lectures and panel discussions with protagonists.

Swab Seed will be part of the official program of the fair at its next edition. Space curated by David Armengol.
