Naïf Art exhibit Opens in Havana

The arts exhibit Dos Miradas, with representative works in naïf art made by Cuban artists Betzi Arias and Caridad Regina Garcia are being exhibited in the Visual Arts Development Center in the Cuban capital city.

 

Winners of the 2014 Naïf Art Festival, called by the National Council of Plastic Arts and the Visual Arts Development Center, the artists show their particular sensitivity in the wide panorama of Cuban contemporary plastic arts.

 

Caridad Regina Garcia, autodidact artist, pictures parts of daily life and the Caribbean human being through mixed-race faces, African origin religions, as well as the popular lore, according to the Visual Arts Development Arts.

 

Betzi Arias’ creations are born from the popular culture, sayings and oral tradition.

 

Dos miradas will run through 29 August at the Visual Arts Development Center located in Plaza Vieja, in the Cuban capital city.
