Singer Ivette Cepeda, a member of the catalogue of Artex’s Musicalia agency, is set to offer Abrazos (Hugs) show, on August 29 – 30, 8:30 pm at Mella Theater, after a year without any performance in such an important stage in Havana.
“This concert will take place in a moment when I feel that I have all of the elements I need so as to give a great show in Havana, beyond a date, space or an album to be launched. I wanted to do it with the thorough care it takes, with a work team paying attention to each space and moment in the concert”,the singer told vistarmagazine.com.
The show proposes a review of the main songs culled in the three albums Ivette Cepeda has recorded – Estaciones, Una ventana entre dos and Miracle – as well as the premiere of some pieces, accompanied by her Reflexion band, with musical arrangements by maestro Jose Luis Beltran. The general direction will be in the hands of producer, dancer and choreographer Pepe Hevia, who is acclaimed in Cuba due to his solo career and his work with singer-songwriter Liuba Maria Hevia.
It’s a journey Ivette’s sonorous universe, accompanied by choreographic elements, audiovisual materials and atmospheres related to her lyrics, Beltran’s arrangements and Reflexion, as well as the dancing and communicative body language displayed by the artist on stage.
Abrazos represents the return of the singer and it’s forecasted to be one of the most outstanding and complex concerts she has ever carried out at the Cuban capital city. The tickets will be for sale since Tuesday August 25 at the theater, nestled in Linea Street between A and B, Vedado, Plaza de la Revolucion.
Cepeda, who is ready to give this great show to the public in Havana, had several international concerts in 2014, such as those held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, or the Miami Dade County Auditorium, full house, along with other US-based Cuban singers like Malena Burke (daughter of Elena Burke, Mrs. Feeling), Aymee Nuviola and Albita Rodriguez.
Ivette Cepeda is an artist that works different musical genres, such as son, bolero, jazz, bossa nova, by merging them; with a comprising repertoire that includes the music of prestigious songwriters like Caetano Veloso, Agustin Lara, Rafael Hernandez, Joaquin Sabina, Joan Manuel Serrat, Miguel Matamoros, Juan Formell, Pablo Milanes, Silvio Rodriguez, Vicente Feliu, Amaury Perez Vidal, Orlando Vistel, Alberto Pujols, Niuska Miniet, Adiane Perera, Fernando Aramis, David Alvarez , Kelvis Ochoa, Raul Torres, Lino Lores and others. She stars an excellent jam session on Thursdays at Telegrafo Hotel, Old Havana.
