Viviana Zargón at Aluna Art Foundation

Gachi Prieto is proud to announce the exhibition of Viviana Zargón "Art Factum/Fictions" in Focus Locus space at Aluna Art Foundation, Miami. Curated by Willy Castellanos and Adriana Herrera, this exhibit may be visited until the first days of November and re-opens the Foundation's space dedicated to contemporary photography.

Aluna Curatorial Collective will reopen its space dedicated to photography, with a solo exhibition by Argentinean artist Viviana Zargon.

In Viviana Zargón’s artworks the borders are changeable and the viewer confuses the lines between fiction and reality, and between photography and painting, even if there are signs that warn of mimetic illusion that leads us to question the act of representation and its subjective social crossings. In the sixties, Gerhard Richter had already thrown us to a gray area where painting is dominated by photography and replicated it in fascinating portraits. But in the fictional paintings of old industries that Zargon installs, the lie of the representation reaches the status of an ontological truth: it reveals the fading out of the great stories of progress and frustration of what was not accomplished for those who live in the XXI century. What remains is the conceptual and visual pleasure of the deconstructions and the space of imagination that expands the reality through the potential of our fictions. As Richter once said, "The ability to believe is our outstanding quality, and only art adequately translates it into reality."
